5 US soldiers dead in Iraq -- what will the whores focus on instead?

Professional liar John Nichols 'greatest' moment in 2008 was when he took to Democracy Now! to smear Hillary as 'talking to Canadians' and he was in Canada and he was going to be writing a major story on it. Of course the whore was lying. That's all he ever does. He was lying and trying to deflect attention from that fact that Barack had sent Austan Goolsbee to talk to the Canadian officials and tell them that his NAFTA talk was just talk and he wasn't going to do a thing to change it if elected.

If you missed that March 2008 whoring -- by John Nichols and Amy Goodman -- Ava and I documented it in real time. And if you're late to the story of Barack tells American voters one thing and Canadian officials another, you can refer to this New York Times story.

If you missed it, it takes a lot of whoring to make Barack Obama look presidential. In fact, it takes several brothels to pull off that trick.

And they do so daily by ignoring the events that actually matter and creating pseudo events -- while swearing it's the other side that does that.

The common whore John Nichols showed up last week at The Nation to write about the Iraq War . . . Huh? Oh, wait, he never writes about the Iraq War now that a Democrat's in office. It's like how he wrote his impeachment book -- this story illustrates what a whore he is for the Democratic Party, FYI -- and when it got published, he was all set to promote it and briefly did. Briefly? Nancy Pelosi took impeachment off the table. When she did, John Nichols stopped promoting his brand new hardcover book. He's a world class whore.

So last week while Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch were both issuing important statements on Iraq, while US House Rep Gary Ackerman was speaking in the House about it being time to tell the American people that not only was the Iraq War not over but it would be continuing past 2011, while Nouri al-Maliki continued his crackdown on protesters and declared that this Friday no protests would be allowed in Baghdad's Tahrir Square, while various officials were assassinated (yesterday, the latest became the bodyguard for the Speaker of Parliament), while the 100 Days loomed to a close with no improvements, while all of this and so much more was going on, John Nichols (AGAIN) elected to ignore Iraq. But he made time to bash Sarah Palin:

Even with conservatives cutting education budgets, every schoolchild who has paid even scant attention in history class knows that “the midnight message of Paul Revere” was a warning to the rebels of what would become the United States that the British redcoats were on the march to disarm the dissenters.
But that was news to Palin.
When she got to Boston, with the apparent purpose of recalling Revere’s ride via a visit to the Old North Church, the former governor of Alaska started talking about: "He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed."
Ouch.
It is tiresome to pick on Palin.

If it's tiresome, then why do you do it? When there are so many important and real issues out there why do you do it? Because it's cheap partisan whoring and it allows you to slam Republicans on insignificant matters while ignoring serious issues like the continued Iraq War -- ignoring serious issues that go to the incompetent you whored into place in the White House.

When you decide to mock Sarah Palin as stupid, to join in the public stoning, you might want to try to have your facts rights. As Andrew Malcolm (Los Angeles Times) explains this morning, Palin was right. Paul Revere was captured and when he was captured he DID warn the British. Malcolm:

You may have heard recently something about that Sarah Palin telling a reporter that Paul Revere warned the British on his famous rousing revolutionary ride.
Now, that so many Americans have wallowed in their smug confirmation that Palin is an idiot unqualified for anything but repeating sixth-grade history, how far, wide and fast do you think the contradictory news will spread that the former governor of Alaska was indeed correct?
That the Republican non-candidate, in fact, knew more about the actual facts of Revere's midnight ride than all those idiots unknowingly revealing their own ignorance by laughing at her faux faux pas? How secretly embarrassing this must be, to be forced to face that you know less than such a reputed dummy.

Peter Grier (Christian Science Monitor) didn't
write about Iraq but did find time to ridicule Palin -- again Malcolm states she's right. (For the record, a friend with the Los Angeles Times called me this morning about Malcolm's post which I said I would gladly include this morning. I was unaware of the whole 'controversy' until the phone call. I follow real news that actually matters, not the crap that these idiots make their whole life into.) Mother Jones didn't have time to cover any of the Iraq news we noted above; however, Tim Murphy did make time to mock Sarah Palin -- again, Malcolm says she is correct. Think Progress doesn't have time for the Iraq War but Tanya Somanader did make the time to take Sarah Palin to task, "It's hard to imagine why Revere would warn the British of anything, or why he'd do it with bells and gun shots. Of course, a quick survey of those toying with the GOP presidential field reveals that basic American history is not their strong suit." Nor, apparently, is it Tanya Somanader's strong suit. Sheila Marikar (ABC News) hopped her high horse to intone, "Perhaps this week's lesson in the annals of American history was necessary for Sarah Palin." ABC News, for those who've forgotten, declared when Barack was entering the White House that they were dropping Iraq as an assignment but if there was anything 'really important,' the news outlet insisted, they'd carry a BBC report on their network.

I don't really give a damn about what Sarah Palin says about history. I didn't hear the story last week. I didn't even know about it until this morning because I don't follow junk news. But all the above -- and many, many more -- decided it was 'news' last week while avoiding real news about the Iraq War.

AP is reporting that 5 US soldiers were killed today in Iraq. Five US soldiers. That's 41 US soldiers killed since August 31st when Barack announced the 'end' of 'combat operations' (yes, it was his "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" moment but don't expect cheap whores posing as journalists to ever tell you that).

5 US soldiers killed. In an illegal war. And all the left -- and MSM -- can do is mock Sarah Palin. You know, 9-11 changed not a damn thing. Not one damn thing. The Iraq War has not ended yet watch how they rush from it day after damn day. And they still want to pretend that there journalists and they have something to offer. They avoid the ongoing, illegal war to spend time mocking Sarah Palin and they want to pretend they're adults. They need a booster chair just to sit at the table. They should all be ashamed.

Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts' "The Plan For Day 101" went up last night. Today on Law and Disorder Radio (begins broadcasting at 9:00 am EST on WBAI and around the country throughout the week), Michael Ratner, Heidi Boghosian and Michael S. Smith explore torture in Chicago with attorney Flint Taylor, and, with Professor Ruth Wilson Gilmore, they explore the Supreme Court's order that California must release their prison population by about two-thirds.
