I Hate The War

As the deaths of the 3 US service members killed in Iraq made it into the news cycle, hopefully it reminded a few that the Iraq War wasn't over. As the day progressed, it was said that the deaths were the highest number of US combat deaths in Iraq since June 2008. Which would mean Barack is well on his way to topping George W. Bush as supreme War Hawk.

Now he could have ended the war like he declared he would when he barnstorming the nation in 2007 and 2008. But he didn't. And the Iraq War continues.

A lot of people have spent the last three years betting that the war ends at the end of 2011. That means the SOFA doesn't get extended or replaced and the State Dept doesn't get the money to take on the contractors and soldiers it's planning to if there's no extension of the SOFA. Could happen. Not all that likely but it is possible.

A lot of people are praying it's more than possible because they staked so much on it, they bet the house, in fact. Look at Tom Hayden and his delusions that the Afghanistan War speech Barack gave last week was a testament to the peace movement. Now I have participated in protests against the wars since Barack was sworn in. Tom Hayden cannot make that same claim.

In today's snapshot we again noted Libya and there are questions regarding scope in a number of e-mails. Libya is not going to become our focus but it is not getting the attention it needs from the left because so many are excusing Barack's war. This is really becoming obvious as we speak to various groups. So when we can fit in -- and I will make room for it -- we will include Libya. The Libyan War isn't the Afghanistan War -- the latter has been going on long enough for people to have a sense of it. That's not the case with the Libyan War. So we will be working it in as we've done already this week in some snapshots. How long will that be for?

That's a question to ask Barack. Though don't expect an honest answer. This is the war he claimed (a) wasn't a war and (b) would be over in a matter of weeks.

It's over, I'm done writing songs about love
There's a war going on
So I'm holding my gun with a strap and a glove
And I'm writing a song about war
And it goes
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Oh oh oh oh

Last Thursday, ICCC's number of US troops killed in Iraq since the start of the illegal war was 4466. Tonight it remains [PDF format warning] 4469. (Today's reported deaths are not in that count.)
