WASHINGTON —Chairman Jeff Miller released the following statement today regarding former House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Lane Evans.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Congressman and House Committee on Veterans Affairs’ Ranking Member Lane Evans. A Marine Corps veteran himself, Evans was a great friend to and a strong advocate for veterans and their causes throughout his entire congressional career. The earliest parts of my time on the committee were during Congressman Evans’ tenure as ranking member. He was an effective leader who commanded immeasurable respect from his colleagues and the veterans for whom he worked so hard to serve. I am grateful to have had the privilege of working with him and will always admire his legacy of service. He will be greatly missed.” – Rep. Jeff Miller, Chairman, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
