US government rushes in to protect . . . property in Iraq -- not the people

They pretend to be in favor of democracy, US officials, but they always expose themselves., don't they?

State Department on situation in #Basra: “Under #Iraqi constitution, the right to peaceful protest and the duty to protect public and private property go hand in hand. The United States condemns violence against diplomats, including that which occurred today in #Basra.”
11:54 PM - 7 Sep 2018

The US State Dept condemned the violence against diplomats (and "property")?

I'm sorry, Brett, where were the US State Dept announcements over the last months condemning the killing of protesters?  We're looking at seventy easily.  At what point did the 'pro-democracy' US government take even one moment to condemn the violence against the protesters?

Apparently, never.

But let property be 'threatened' and here comes the US government!!!!  huffing and a puffing to call out the 'violence.'

Not everyone was thrilled with Brett's re-emergence.

this is diplomats reply and we totally agree that the public property should be saved and not targeted by protesters. In the other side USA led the global efforts to liberate Iraq and build new young democracy process therefore USA should fighter the corruption.

It should also be pointed out that the US State Dept has had nothing to say, not one thing, about the people hospitalized for the 'crime' of drinking the drinking water in Basra.

Common Ills
We do not open attachments. Stop e-mailing them. Threats and abusive e-mail are not covered by any privacy rule. This isn't to the reporters at a certain paper (keep 'em coming, they are funny). This is for the likes of failed comics who think they can threaten via e-mails and then whine, "E-mails are supposed to be private." E-mail threats will be turned over to the FBI and they will be noted here with the names and anything I feel like quoting. This also applies to anyone writing to complain about a friend of mine. That's not why the public account exists.
