David North in Sri Lanka: The Lessons of History and the Struggle for Socialism Today

David North, the chairman of the WSWS International Editorial Board and national chairman of the Socialist Equality Party (US), has just returned from a very successful trip to Sri Lanka. North spoke at meetings in Kandy and Colombo attended by hundreds of workers and young people. The text of the remarks, "Eighty Years of the Fourth International: The Lessons of History and the Struggle for Socialism Today," has been posted on the WSWS. North's trip was covered extensively in the Sri Lankan media, including interviews on some of the most widely-followed TV and radio programs. This includes: A 20-minute interview on Channel Eye TV's "Rise and Shine," the most popular English-language morning program A 30-minute interview on the "Coffee with Dan" program on the Sri Lankan Broadcasting Corporation network.
