Isakson, Tester Announce Toys for Tots Drive
Committee invites Senate community to donate toys for underprivileged children

ATLANTA – U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., and Jon Tester, D-Mont., chairman and ranking member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, today announced that the committee will be sponsoring the annual Toys for Tots drive in honor of the upcoming holidays.

The Senate unanimously passed S.Res.696, introduced by Isakson and Tester, to permit the collection of charitable donations in Senate buildings during the holiday season.
“We are excited to host the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots charity drive to help bring holiday cheer to children in Georgia and across the country,” said Isakson. “Senator Tester and I encourage our Senate colleagues and their staffs to join us in supporting this worthy cause.”

“Every holiday season Toys for Tots makes a meaningful contribution to families across the nation,” said Tester.  “I am pleased to join with Chairman Isakson and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to light up Christmas for thousands of children.”

Toys for Tots is an annual program conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to collect toys for needy children. The committee will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys in drop-off boxes until Dec. 12, 2018, when Marines will collect the donations. Donation boxes are located in participating Senate offices and outside the committee’s hearing room, 418 Russell Senate Office Building.
