Fidel Narváez was consul and first secretary at the Ecuadorian embassy
in London for eight years until 2018, during which WikiLeaks publisher
Julian Assange was there as a political asylee. He speaks of his
experience with the security company UC Global, who spied on Assange and
his visitors, including family, doctors and lawyers, on behalf of the
CIA.
Narváez also relates some of the "lies, exaggerations and
misrepresentations" the company spread that were damaging to Assange's
reputation and likely to diminish his support. He notes that this was
one of the things the UN representative referred to as psychological
torture, since Mr Assange was unable to refute the reports.
