Friend,
President-elect Joe Biden promised to safeguard our planet from the dangers of climate change. And we’re mobilizing fast to hold him accountable to that promise.
Climate change is one of the primary racial justice issues our generation is facing. Black communities and poor communities have been—and will continue to be—on the front lines of pollution, natural disasters, and every other traumatic impact of a warming climate. But we can’t mobilize for climate change without your support.
By the time Biden is sworn in we’ll be ready to meet him with thousands of signatures calling him to issue an executive order calling on the EPA to utilize the authority of the Clean Air Act. Without this, the unjust locally concentrated pollution disparities that are fueled and reinforced by social inequality at every level.
These racially fueled “sacrifice zones” are why Black and brown people are dying disproportionally from the impacts of a warming climate.
Protecting the planet is the thing upon which every other thing is premised:
For Black people. For Brown people. For all of us.
For Future Generations,
