2025: The Year Of The Jig Is Up

It's still The Statue of Liberty, right?

It's the start of 2026, but it's still The Statue of Liberty and not The Statue of Trump and Liberty, right?

If you missed it MAGA and they're wet nurse Pete Hegseth ran through the year whining about historical disrespect.

Over Donald Chump's attacks on history?

No, they were okay with that.  Like Donald, they're uneducated.

No, they whined about 'disrespect' over things like a Confederate criminal (which is what the Confederacy was -- a collection of criminals attacking the United States).

But they didn't say a word when Chump broke the law (see Kat's "Ric Grenell -- the social disgrace" and Ruth's "Chump is TV rating poison") and renamed the US government memorial to the late President John F. Kennedy by adding his obscene name to it.  It's illegal what he did.  And what's really sad is that there is a Kennedy lawyer in his administration.  But as usual, cowardly Robert Junior can't be expected to stand up for what's right.

MAGA doesn't know or care much about history.

Cy Neff (ALJAZEERA) reports:

On the very first day of his second term, United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a government panel tasked with rooting out waste, fraud and abuse.

But as part of that effort, Trump made an announcement that alarmed privacy advocates.

His administration would be seeking "full and prompt access to all unclassified agency records, software systems and IT [information technology] systems" from across the spectrum of government agencies.

That announcement was the start of a series of sweeping steps Trump took in 2025 to push for the mass consolidation of federal data.

But civil rights advocates and legal scholars fear that Trump has accelerated a worrisome trend, one that pits the individual right to privacy against government expediency.

“Once you build a system that connects every database about an individual across federal and state governments, it's incredibly hard to unwind that system,” said Cody Venzke, who serves as senior policy counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

That illegal DOGE.  The great failure that didn't end up saving any money but did result in mass firings.  A great big failure.  And it was built on lies.

That's pretty much what you can say about any and every program Chump began in 2025 -- a great big failure built on lies.

You can say that about his tariffs program that, you might remember, was built on lies.  You can say that about his immigration program that was supposed to only target violent criminals.  You can say it about the attacks on public health that he and Junior have pursued.  Every program has been an abject failure.

Chump never learns.

But We The People do and what started off as one of the worst years ever for our country got a lot better as i moved along.  Why?  Because people got wise to his lies.

That's reflected in polling that finds approval for Donald to be below 40% in poll after poll.  Chump insisted this week that all these polls were lying.  That probably went over with the American people about as well as hi lies that he's made the economy better.  People know it's not better, they see it with their own eyes when they go grocery shopping.  He lies and thinks he can fool people but, no, people believe what they see with their own eyes.

The jig is up.  That's what this year's been about.  Him losing support because people believe reality over his lies.

The Epstein Scandal exposed him as a fraud and continues to expose him as such.  He could not shut up about pedophile and sex traficker Jeffrey Epstein when he was out of the White House starting in January of 2021.  He promised to release the records.  He becomes president, AG Pam da Bimbo Bondi tells us that the Epstein client list is on her desk and will be released shortly.  But then it wasn't.  And Pam told Chump he was mentioned in the documents -- mentioned a lot.  So they tried to walk away from it around the 4th of July.  And they lied to Congress repeatedly.  And Mike Johnson shut down Congress and refused to seat US House Rep Adelita Grijalva because she would provide the last needed signature to the Epstein Files Discharge Petition.  Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna came up with that to get the Esptein files released -- Massie is a Republican, Khanna is a Democrat. Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace had also signed on.  And, as we learned this week, Chump attacked Mace over the phone to try to bully her into taking her name off the petition for discharge, he bullied Boebert to her face in the Oval Office and he bullied Marjorie Tylor Greene over the phone and yelled at  her that if the documents were released, his friends would be hurt.

Speaker of the Closet Mike Johnson finally had to seat Grijalva and the House had to vote -- which they did with every member voting to release the files except for one Republican.  And the Senate passed it as well.  A December deadline was set and Pam Bondi and Chump not only didn't meet it, they still haven't met it.  They are not in compliance with the law.

And this has exposed Chump as the liar that he is.  It's even run off some MAGA members.

Remember THE BOY AND THE DIKE (or THE HERO OF HAARLEM)?  Peter (the boy) spots the tiny crack in the dike and plugs it with his finger.  He stays up all night waiting for help that finally comes in the morning.  There was no way to plug up the hole in Donald's dike and Epstein went from a tiny hole to a huge crack revealing who Donald Chump really is.

And it's cost him support -- GALLUP's most recent polling has found him at 38% approval rating.  And more scandals are coming out.  Like this one MEIDASTOUCH reported on last night.

Again, 2025 is The Year Of The Jig Is Up" or to put in modern parlance "Game Over."
