And we'll note this at USF:
|Soldier dies of non-combat related causes||Hits ( - )|
| RELEASE No. 20100522-01 May 22, 2010 CONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE SPEICHER, IRAQ – A United States Division – North Soldier died Thursday of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. ... |
If you use the link, you'll see why we aren't quoting from it: We can't. USF has linked to a September 2006 death announcement. AP reports on the two deaths here. The deaths bring the total number of US service members killed in Iraq to 4399.
Presumably the latest deaths are part of that "success" Hoawrd LaFranchi (Christian Science Monitor) quoted Bush, er Barack, speaking of at West Point today.
Yesterday's snapshot noted Ed Balls and Ed Miliband's statements on the Iraq War. BBC News reports:
Former foreign secretary and Labour leadership contender David Miliband has urged party members not to make the Iraq war an issue in the race.
He said it was "time to move on" after two other candidates criticised the decision to invade Iraq in 2003.
Ed Balls said the war was "wrong", while Ed Miliband said it had led to a "big loss of trust" in Labour.
I will repeat what I stated yesterday, no one believes Ed is seriously running for the post of leadership and his remarks on Iraq (which are weak compared to Balls) are seen as a way to minimize Balls' stance. As disclosed before I know David Miliban and (first disclosure) I also know Ed Miliband. Ed's correct that the Iraq War led to a "big loss of trust" in the Labour Party. Labour's own polling throughout this year and last demonstrated that. Second most interesting bit in the article is a brief notation that is unexplored. But it's why you have the sorry 'left' in the US and in the UK.
Sky News has video of David making his ridiculous statements. Ridiculous statements that will probably go over well with a party in such denial. Meanwhile Sahar Issa (McClatchy Newspapers) reports a Baghdad sticky bombing targeting the car of Sahwa Omar Abdullah who was killed in the bombing.
