Oh, the dumb assery

As hard as it is to believe, the press has actually gotten worse since they first sold the Iraq War.  They lie and lie over and over and they get away with it.  Then they have the nerve to scream "fake news" -- as if they offer anything other than fake news.

The KRG held elections at the end of September.

To no one's surprise, the KDP came in first.  To no one's suprise if they're honest and not stupid.

Yet AFP insists, "The dominant party in Iraq’s Kurdistan has secured the most seats in the autonomous region’s Parliament, despite its leader Massoud Barzani having championed an ill-fated independence referendum last year, the local electoral commission said Sunday."

Despite?

Talk about lying whores of the press.

The referendum was not a gaffe.  And over 92% of the voters supporting it did not harm the KDP or Massoud Barzani.  In fact, that over 92% support is why the KDP is so popular now and the PUK -- which worked not only to derail the refendum but also to give up Kirkuk -- is so hugely unpopular.

While the PUK did worse than last go round, the KDP (already in the lead in the last elections) increased their support by 38%.

Why was that?

Because Massoud ensured that referendum took place.

The sticks in the ass stupid at AFP may not like the referendum.  But it was hugely popular among Kurds and the Kurds are who voted in the September elections -- not reporters for AFP.

I'm sick of the lies, I'm sick of dumb assery.  If the media wants respect, they need to do something to earn it.  Lying about Barzani's popularity is not helping them.  He delivered what the Kurds wanted -- to officially express whether they wanted independence or not (they want independence).
