The working class is fighting back

The working class is beginning to fight.

Every day, the Socialist Equality Party fights to organize a politically conscious opposition to the two capitalist parties, but we need your help.

Can you donate $20 today to help us reach thousands of more workers?

The number of US workers involved in work stoppages in 2018 was the highest of any year since 1986.

More than 90 percent of these 485,000 workers were in the education, health care and social assistance industries. This wave of unrest has only increased in 2019. In the past week alone:
  • Thousands of Uber, Lyft and other ride-sharing drivers went on strike in the US and internationally to demand livable wages and job security.
  • Tens of thousands of educators and their supporters marched in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Columbia, South Carolina, to protest low wages and abysmal public-school funding.
  • Around 80 teachers at three Chicago Public Schools charter campuses and over 1,000 students began a strike last Wednesday to fight for higher wages and support services.
  • More than 1,400 teachers and school employees in Nashville, Tennessee, participated in a sick-out Friday to protest the Democratic mayor’s school budget
  • Nearly 2,000 nurses, technicians and other hospital support staff walked out on strike Monday at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
  • Thousands of drivers for Uber, Lyft and other ride-sharing companies went on strike yesterday, to demand a livable wages and job security.
The ruling class is terrified.

While President Trump continues to turn more openly toward authoritarian measures, the Democrats are pushing for more aggressive confrontations with Russia and the persecution of Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning.

The resurgence of the international class struggle and growing interest in socialism poses new responsibilities for the SEP and the WSWS. Printing leaflets, making videos, holding meetings, and traveling to strikes and other working-class struggles come with substantial costs.

Can you make a $20 donation today to help us reach thousands of more workers and youth?
