Dear Reader, Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic marches on, but that hasn’t stopped competition and exhibition corps from holding “virtual” rehearsals and making plans for the restart next summer. I continue to speak with directors, members and fans who are working hard to keep their positive thoughts that an end to the Coronavirus will come. I received a report from Google with figures on where readers of this on-line magazine are located. Here is that updated list -- United States, Canada, The Netherlands, Japan, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, Germany, The Philippines, Singapore, Belgium, Hong Kong and Latvia. That’s quite a diverse geographic spread and in some countries that don’t yet have their own corps! I continue to read encouraging words from friends across the globe about the content that appears in monthly editions of the publication. I am pleased with the diversity contributed from staff members, as well as individuals who have stories to tell and want to share them with our readers and that help fill these editions. My hope is that everyone who follows the worldwide drum corps movement will look to the future when ALL the corps will have survived this hopefully-temporary “pause” in the long history! |
