 Periods can be a real mess, and come with a whole host of problems. While the list is endless, for a vast majority of menstruators in India the problems are much more severe. For them, lack of toilets, menstrual hygiene, societal stigma, and inability to afford pads and other menstrual product are the real pressing issues.

Conversations around menstruation often overlook the intersectionality of class, caste, and gender. Taboos and lack of information further legitimise shame around menstruation.
