Dear Bioneer,
I want to let you know that my Changing of the Gods independent 10-episode docu-series is now live online. It’s a revolutionary series for revolutionary times. Along with the trailer, you can watch the series on Vimeo, Amazon, YouTube and iTunes (also available in Canada, Australia and the UK).

Although the series is a personal project independent of my work with Bioneers, it draws deeply on core Bioneers ideas and speakers, Bioneers including Chief Oren Lyons, Luisah Teish, Eve Ensler, john a. powell, Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Tom Linzey, Mari Margil, William Keepin and Jeremy Narby. Our longtime Bioneers colleague Louie Schwartzberg co-directed the series with me.
Inspired by the landmark book Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View by the acclaimed cultural historian, scholar and archetypal astrologer Richard Tarnas, the series is a Russian doll of stories enfolded within stories. If “worldviews create worlds,” as Richard says, then what’s the worldview that has brought us to this brink of annihilation today, and is there another worldview emerging that could bring about a restored world?
In one dimension, Changing of the Gods is a deep exploration of cosmology. Who are we as human beings and what is our place in the cosmos? Do we live in a random, meaningless universe? Or is there order in the chaos?
Across recurring historical cycles of revolution and counter-revolution, we chronicle the evolution of social movements for liberation, freedom, rights and justice from the French Revolution up to the “fierce urgency of now.” The episodes vividly depict a sweeping historical exploration of whether indeed “the arc of the moral universe bends toward justice.” We turn an archetypal eye rooted in depth psychology to explore the deeper nature of the human psyche, both light and shadow, where the counterpoint to the quest for liberation is the unbridled will to raw power and domination. Sound familiar?
Regarding the cosmological aspects, the series unfolds as a cosmic mystery story with the provocative question: Is there a correlation between entire epochs in human history and the movements of the planets? We follow a bread crumb trail of recurring historical synchronicities – meaningful coincidences - that propel us into the mystery of consciousness itself.
Are coincidences just coincidences? Does the “arc of the moral universe” bend, but only if we bend it? There is so much more to say, but a picture is worth a thousand words. If you do watch the film, I’d love to hear what your experience is.
I want to honor and thank the Bioneers community for our amazing shared learning journey together over these three-plus decades that has shaped me to be able to tell this story.
With Love and All Good Wishes -

Other comments from Bioneers viewers John Densmore Doors drummer, musician, author, mystic
"The Doors were blessed by the cosmos. Something bigger than the four of us came in. Changing of Gods is a blessing that reminds us — the earth is our home, so let's clean up our room, then we can stay in the Milky Way!"
Mary Waldner Founder of Mary’s Gone Crackers
"Whether or not you 'believe' in the impact of the invisible forces on our lives—in this case, in the form of planetary patterns—is somewhat irrelevant when watching the epic scope that Changing of the Gods presents. We see the spirals of power struggles, upheavals, and transformations as we revisit the same themes over hundreds of years in our human dance towards love, humility, unity, connection, awakening, and becoming whole. What a stunningly beautiful, wise, brilliant, astounding work of love the Changing of the Gods team has gifted us. A powerful invitation to remember our true nature and find our right path going forward on this living planet of which we are a part. The 10-part series needs to be part of curricula all over the world. History, philosophy, psychology, Indigenous wisdom, and cosmology—guiding us to wake up before it’s too late." |
