Ann Wilson is a sweet person and incredible singer. She's not a thinker or very well educated.
It was idiotic of her to not perform the song "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" (she's back to that, by the way, refusing to perform it). It's Heart's biggest song and their last top ten hit. She could perform it in concert and then do a funny riff on the story of the song. But it's a story song. When Cher sings "Papa would do whatever he could"? It's a story song. It's not her autobiography. Cher's autobiography is no father around -- step fathers briefly, but not really even them. Nor did she ever catch some woman with her "man, laughing and kissin' till they saw the gun in my hand." If they were really "dead on the floor," Cher would have sung a confession that would have landed her in prison. Nor was Tina ever a "private dancer" -- again, these are story songs. They tell a story.
Ann's simplistic thinking is also evident in the video above by her praise for Cecile Richards. Cecile was the very bad president of Planned Parenthood from 2006 until 2018. Anyone with a brain should grasp what a failure Cecile is. In 2007, trying to secure the Democratic Party's 2008 presidential nomination, Barack told President Cecile and Planned Parenthood that if he was elected President of the United States, his first act would be to codify ROE V WADE.
He didn't.
And in 2016, when he ended his second term, he ended it with Cecile never publicly rebuking him, never demanding that he follow through with the promise he made, the promise she used to try to drum up support for him (against Hillary Clinton who was also seeking the nomination).
No, Cecile did nothing to be praised for. She is one of the people we can thank for ROE no longer being the law of the land. She betrayed and failed women. That's reality.
Ann's got an incredible voice and beautiful spirit and nature.
She's is not smart enough to handle politics and shouldn't try. When she attempts to do so, it leads her to stupidly refuse to sing her band's biggest hit and it leads her to praise a woman who grifted and took money but refused to defend ROE. Cecile is an abject failure. That's an inextricable judgment for anyone who actually paid attention.
