Adolph Zukor was one of the founders of PARAMOUNT and, at the start of 1973, he turned 100. PARAMOUNT threw a big evening celebration for him that was attended by many people who worked for PARAMOUNT over the years (like Barbara Stanwyck, Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, Edith Head, Alfred Hitchcock, Gregory Peck, Rock Hudson, Jimmy Stewart, etc) and some who never did (Bette Davis). Among the guests who also entertained were Hope, Lamour, Jack Benny and Diana Ross who had starred in PARAMOUNT's hit LADY SINGS THE BLUES (which came out the previous October and which, one month after the birthday party, would see Diana honored with an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress).
