Born in 1930, Huerta's lifelong dedication to social justice and workers' rights began in her early years, shaped by her mother's activism and her own encounters with discrimination. Despite facing ethnic and gender biases, Huerta became a fierce advocate for farm workers, organizing strikes, negotiating contracts, and fighting for safer working conditions. Her impactful efforts led to groundbreaking legislation and improved representation for workers. A recipient of prestigious awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Huerta's legacy as a tireless activist and advocate for change continues to shape our world. |
