Truthout adds Dahr Jamail

Victoria Harper (Truthout) announces:

We are delighted to announce that, as of next week, award-winning journalist Dahr Jamail will be joining the team here at Truthout as a full-time staff reporter.

Dahr Jamail is an investigative reporter who distinguished himself by authoring some of the strongest and best reporting on Iraq.

He's reported at his own site and for many other outlets including Al Jazeera, Truthout, Tom Dispatch, IPS and more.

Dahr Jamail is also the author of Beyond The Green Zone, one of the best books on the Iraq War -- easily in the top five and, depending on the day, it could be number one on my own personal list, and he also authored The Will To Resist: Soldiers Who Refused To Fight In Iraq and Afghanistan -- a book that's more than a book, it's also a resource and, for historical reasons in the near future, you should be in every library.

Truthout launched in 2000 and is a website which carries syndicated content and original content.  At Third, December 9, 2012, we awarded the outlet a "Truest statement of the week:"

(if you think we're not still at war in Iraq, I can introduce you to some military families who are still posting love-you-be-safe letters to that particular delivery code)

-- a parenthetical aside from William Rivers Pitt, "Until They All Come Home" (Truthout).
