And yet still it continues?

The prime minister Hayder al-Abadi claimed that Mosul would be liberated last month because it was the month of June -- in 2014 -- when the Islamic State seized control of Mosul.
Of course, the prime minister has repeatedly made announcements saying Mosul would be liberated by X only for those statements to prove false.
Day 253 of an operation that began in October of last year.
At some point, it will conclude.
But it's far too late to sell it as a victory.
Not only has it taken too long but the operation has also destroyed Mosul.
