Dear readers:
I suspect the majority of you would agree that this was generally a great year for the drum corps activity in the United States, for the DCI, SoundSport, Drumline Battle, DCA, alumni, exhibition and mini-corps movement. A total of 142 different groups performed or competed during the summer of 2018.

Now that the DCI and DCA seasons have been completed, with reportedly record crowds at regular as well as championship events, our attention will turn to Europe and the Drum Corps Nederland, Drum Corps United Kingdom and Drum Corps Europe title shows to be included among the ones covered in the October edition. One more European championship will then follow in the November issue, reporting on the British Youth Band Association.
Across the board we have been able to cover the highest percentage of contests sponsored by DCI and DCA than ever before, thanks to our talented staff of writers and photographers who make extra effort to get to as many venues as possible. Without their involvement and commitment, it would be difficult to continue producing this electronic magazine 17 times each year.
And, of course, the commercial and non-profit advertisers that display their products and services account for 95% of the operating revenue that keeps Drum Corps World coming your way. Their belief in the publication is very much appreciated.
We have a great deal of off-season content planned for the issues between now and the kick-off of the 2019 season, so keep watching and please me know if you have any suggestions.
