If our voices weren’t so powerful, they wouldn’t try so hard to deny them.

Friend,

White supremacists have spent decades using voter suppression as a tool against anyone who threatens the status quo and works to abolish institutional racism. If our voices weren’t powerful, they wouldn’t work so hard to deny them. It’s on all of us to fight back by voting in 2020.

2020 has been a year of radical and jarring changes. It has been the year that the Rona ravages all communities, but Black communities especially. It has been the year that George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were murdered in cold blood, and we took to the streets in protest. And it will also be the year we engage in one of the most challenging election years in American history.

We have the power to decide this election,1 and it is essential that we ensure every single one of us is empowered with the information and access we need to vote. As we face an active pandemic, climate-fueled natural disaster, and active voter disinformation campaigns, the stakes have never been higher.

Hip Hop Caucus fights for policies that build our communities up, that protect our lives and our health, that save our planet, and that are fair, equal, and just. Voting is one of the most critical ways to exercise our power. When we align voting with speaking out, marching, advocating for policy, and coming together in community, we can affect change in the laws and systems that govern our society.

This year, we leave no voter behind, as we mobilize for a safer planet and future for all of us.

Today, on National Voter Registration Day, make sure your vote is counted.
