anywho! on this episode of 1+1, I was honored on the day after July 26th or the day of the 26th to have back on the program Cindy Sheehan anti-imperialist activist and host of her own podcast "Cindy Sheehan's Soapbox" and campaigner for victims of covid eldercide. I had her back on the program to discuss the US and its allies latest efforts to destabilize Cuba and overturn the revolutionary socialist policies and goverment there. we discuss how the root of the protests and discontent is the brutal American economic blockade. Cindy explains how it progressively has gotten worse from JFK to Clinton (who she describes as the worst offender), and Trump and the current Biden administration. we discuss how punitive the sanctions are. we then got the chance to explore what are the "legitimate" if any grievances the opposition in Cuba does have. Cindy pushes back against a lot of the propaganda levelled at Cuba by the Western powers that target the audience there to be opposed to the Cuban leadership of past and present. We discussed the Cuban-American expat/civil society organizations, much of it funded by the US and its deep state actors and how the opposition is mostly reactionary right-wingers and there is no left-wing alternative that'd like to replace the current system just ultra capitalists. and from there we discuss much of the good policies the Cuban government has achieved for its people, as well as how Cuba has been a force for good in international affairs and even discussed US state sponsored terrorism beyond the embargo and the Cuban Five which was dramatically depicted in a Netflix film which people should check out. all of this and more on this special edition of 1+1, all things Cuba with our returning champion Cindy Sheehan, do enjoy and share widely. 1.
