Like feminism, the subject of gender is hotly debated on the African continent. In some countries, there is new legislation which accommodate LGBTQI+ rights, but in other, there has been a backward trajectory. Many hold the view that gender is the meeting point of intersectional feminism and LGBTQI+ movements. This panel will examine the evolution of feminism on the African continent, whilst exploring new paths for acknowledging our collective humanity.
