For the first time in decades, the rank and file were able to give the UAW executives a piece of our minds in a public setting, after years of sellouts, corruption and the transformation of the union into a part of management. While all the other candidates defended the continued existence of the UAW bureaucracy, I appealed to the working class to build rank-and-file committees, transfer power from the apparatus to the shop floor and unite internationally. In the days since the debate, I have received an outpouring of support from workers across the US for my campaign. Neither Solidarity House, nor Ray Curry, nor Shawn Fein are highlighting the debate, because they don’t want workers to watch it and see the bureaucracy be challenged. Now I need your help to take my campaign to the next level. I need resources. I don’t have the resources of the bureaucratic apparatus that I am fighting to abolish. I don’t have the support of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party or the corporations. I only have the support of workers like you. I am asking you to contribute to my campaign. Go to WillforUAWPresident.org/donate, and give what you can to keep this campaign going. Thank you, Will |
