And the lack of women in the nominations for that category? Exactly why Ava and I wrote "Hard Pass on one Best Acting Academy Award (Ava and C.I.)" -- and, again, as we note, transwomen can be in Best Actress absolutely: "And, please note, we're fine with nominees designating which category they will appear in -- Best Actor or Best Actress." But we not believe the Academy Awards cancels the Best Actress category.
