Putting the "lie" in Liasson, NPR's Mara repeated charges about the AARP from an internet ad and apparently in the name of "balance" allowed them to stand. Also trotted out a pundit to speak of how both sides are fighting ugly in the Social Security debate. Hopefully Media Matters will address Liasson's "reporting" this morning.
From CBS News (which I just searched after the story was mentioned on Morning Edition) "G.I. Found Guilty Of Killing Iraqi:"
A military court on Thursday found a U.S. Army tank company commander guilty of charges related to the shooting death of a wounded Iraqi last year. Capt. Rogelio "Roger" Maynulet, a 30-year-old from Chicago, stood at attention as the verdict was read. The court was to reconvene later Thursday to consider Maynulet's sentence. The charge — assault with intent to commit voluntary manslaughter — carries a maximum of 10 years in prison. Prosecutors had sought a conviction on a more serious charge of assault with intent to commit murder that carried a 20-year maximum. Maynulet told the court Wednesday that his shooting of an unarmed Iraqi wounded in a chase was "honorable" and "the right thing to do." He was found guilty in the May 21, 2004, killing near Kufa, south of Baghdad. He had pleaded not guilty.

This evening at 7:00 pm eastern time, Air America Place will be remembering Unfiltered (the Air America radio program airs its last episode this morning). Lizz Winstead is supposed to drop by the blog so consider that a heads up.
Lizz Winstead has started her own website. From a post on that web site:
I have missed you all so much!
Now that Springer has sprung, you have an inkling about why I am no longer at Air America.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words of support. It was so touching to see how much you care.
You are the best fans in the whole world and I am sooo sorry you were left higher and drier than a post menopausal Liza, but it took me weeks to wrap my own head around the madness!
I would never leave you kids for very long; hell, we are all in this f**king thing together!
I need to tell you how much I love the brilliant Rachel Maddow and the equally brilliant Chuck D and working with them is the best reason I have had in my career to wake up in the morning…at 4:30 am…to scrape dog sh*t off the streets of New York…so I could read for 3 hours about the world…in order to prepare to do a daily national radio show…only to spend half of my time on the air screaming on the blog at Yummy whomeverthef**k!
Rach, Chuck and I remain very close and you guys made us a truly wonderful, insane family.
Rachel Maddow will have her own Air America radio program. It will start "Either April 11th or April 18th, depending on how planets align." And it will air from 5:00 am to 6:00 am eastern time Monday through Friday (directly before Morning Sedition). (Thanks to Natalie for forwarding that public e-mail from Maddow -- sent out to everyone who signed up at www.rachelmaddow.com and hopefully we'll have something about Chuck (the third co-host of Unfiltered) this evening.
Again, www.rachelmaddow.com is the web site.
