    This is a good point. The big impediment, of course, is that editors largely remain hidden when huge debacles happen. Sometimes that's due to byline customs, but often it's due to their happiness to allow writers or others be hung out to dry for their major failures.
    People should spend less time criticizing reporters/writers for stories they don't like and more time criticizing editors.
