Happy to share some academic news: my article, 'From personal narrative to global call for action: The case of Yazidi survivor Nadia Murad', is finally published (link: )

Quick thread on : For all the talk about the security breaches that allowed for yesterday's explosion, the video below is what actually frightens me more. For non-Arabic readers, an all-women's gym owner received threats to shut down her business:

  3. Still living the nightmare of car bombs. Their memory makes me wince at any sound or bang. Sad to come across car bombs in the news again. RIP! My heart and thoughts with all the victims and their families in and elsewhere in .

  5. People do not accept apologies /change but embrace hypocrisy. Think about your work of place, the people around. Many of whom were (x) in the past but change 2 (y) or (z),the list goes on, in the present. This was quite enough to grant them not just forgiveness, but also privilege
  6. How did you find about her past comments? Is digging through one's social media accounts, circulating their old posts, and inviting everyone to shame and smear the person, ethical?
  8. We can all be virtually stabbed hundreds of times before this happens in reality.

  13. Pardon me! I don't get it at all. You are dragging this conversation into a personal corner. I was voicing my opinion on the situation in Yemem based on a fact you avoided all of the time. And everyone is entitled their own opinions.
  14. Although I was not debating that analyst, I found it very strange to question debate. The assumption that I have little understanding on a simple fact (because this was my argument): 'Saudis are not Yemenis. Houthis are. Both are equally criminal', is what is off putting, Rasha.

  20. If you are Iraqi but do not like fish, you can still understand. You can still relate. It is not just a loss of a great resource. It is a loss of a bond. A loss of a connection. Now it is hard to imagine what can fill this space.
