Mike Pence Praises Shannon Airport

From World Beyond War:

Mike Pence Praises Shannon Airport
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence was overheard Monday declaring silently to himself that the United States military simply could not have killed anywhere near as many people in the Middle East, Central Asia, or North Africa in recent years without shuttling millions of troops and weapons through Shannon Airport in the supposedly neutral nation of Ireland.
In the viewpoint of military experts, however, the U.S. military could quite easily transport its troops and weapons through other locations, and simply ships them through Ireland in order to assert dominance over the servile Irish government and avoid the horror of having a country stand outside the U.S. empire.
Pence spoke out publicly on Monday to denounce a conference and rally being planned in Limerick and at Shannon Airport (see video). The conference and rally, called #NoWar2019, is being planned by a global peace organization with members in Ireland called World BEYOND War. The organizers oppose the U.S. military's use of Shannon Airport.

World BEYOND War is a global nonviolent movement to end war and establish a just and sustainable peace. We aim to create awareness of popular support for ending war and to further develop that support. We work to advance the idea of not just preventing any particular war but abolishing the entire institution. We strive to replace a culture of war with one of peace in which nonviolent means of conflict resolution take the place of bloodshed.
