I hear a lot in the corporate media about how Medicare for All is just "too expensive." You know what is too expensive? Paying $28,000 a year for health insurance – the average for a family of four. That is really damn expensive! And it's going to end under Medicare for All.

Anything you can pitch in would be super helpful. It’s not easy to be an underdog taking on the establishment, win an incredibly difficult primary, win the general and then help lead the fight for progressive change in the legislature. But she’s doing it — with your help.

  • This campaign is not going to stop decrying 500,000 medical bankruptcies a year just because a discredited Washington Post pundit puts out demonstrably false information under the banner of “fact checking”

I criticize Sirota a lot. But he's right abt this. The Post increasingly hands out 3 & 4 "Pinocchios" for claims which at worst one might say are the subject of some academic dispute or are simply not worded in a way the Post likes. That's for Dems and the Left, not GOPs.

This "fact checker" piece is a ridiculous attempt to weigh in on a scholarly debate. The 500,000 medical bankruptcy statistic is based on what those who have gone bankrupt themselves say. The WaPo is effectively calling them liars too.

If Glenn isn't going to retract the "fact check" he can give us a "Bottomless Pinocchio." 81 experts, including the former Editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine, have written a letter to the editor against this "fact check." Will the publish it?

  • Here’s a clear sign that ’ plan to save journalism from billionaire control is Actually Very Good: Rupert Murdoch’s editorial board is melting down and freaking out about the plan.
  • Demanding newpapers report accurate facts and correct their errors is an effort to support journalism. That’s different from calling reporters the “enemy of the people.” If you willfully pretend to not understand the difference, then you are helping democracy die in darkness.
