Some Tweets from Elizabeth Warren

LGBTQ+ activists and organizers have made enormous strides toward equality—but that hard-won progress is already under attack. We need a president who is ready to fight back. I've got a plan to secure LGBTQ+ rights and equality.
  • I will have a Secretary of Education who believes in public education, who believes in the value of every single one of our kids, and who will enforce our civil rights laws.
  • How would I respond to someone who says marriage is between one man and one woman?
  • We must use the leverage of the U.S. market to lift LGBTQ+ rights around the world. If companies want to come sell stuff here, then they must meet our standards: Labor standards, environmental standards, and human rights standards to protect LGBTQ+ communities.
  • I strongly support teaching children about gender identity. We live in a world with a lot of different folks who look different, sound different, and who form different families. As Americans, we should look at this and see this as our strength.
  • I was glad to answer Jacob’s question. I promised him: When I’m president, we’ll have a Secretary of Education who believes in the value of every one of our kids, and who will enforce our civil rights laws to make kids like him feel safe in school.
  • We believe that equal means equal. I say it because I want Republicans to hear that. I want them to know that people vote based on LGBTQ+ issues. We’ll push Mitch McConnell right now—but my main goal is that he’s not the Majority Leader come January 2021.
  • I will . I will fight to end this epidemic. I will celebrate and uplift the voices of the many transgender people who are persisting and succeeding in spite of injustice. And I'll fight to ensure that every LGBTQ+ person has the opportunity to thrive.
  • We need a president who will and fight to end this epidemic. We must ensure that trans women of color—and all LGBTQ+ people—aren't just safe from violence and discrimination, but also have every opportunity to thrive and succeed.
  • At the last LGBTQ+ forum, I read the names of 18 Black trans women who had been killed in 2019. Last night, we learned about another cruel loss, Itali Marlowe.
  • Tune in tonight at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT as we talk about the big, structural change we need to make sure every LGBTQ+ American can live free from discrimination and fear.
  • Liberian immigrants fled violence and civil war and built lives, businesses, and communities here. Revoking their protection from deportation is cruel and dangerous. I'll fight to protect Deferred Enforced Departure for Liberian immigrants.
  • An additional $23 a month is not nearly enough. I’ve got a plan to increase Social Security benefits immediately by $200 a month.
  • Everyone should get the mental health care they need and be treated with dignity and respect. I'll fight to end the stigma around mental health—and under , every person will have comprehensive mental health coverage.
  • Thank you —you give me hope too as we fight for a better future!
  • In addition to abusing and manipulating our diplomatic relationships for Trump's political gain, we can add corruption and campaign finance violations to the list.
  • As we fight the climate crisis, justice for communities on the front lines must be at the core of our response to climate change—and I’ve got a plan for that.
  • Less than two months ago, AT&T signed a statement promising to value employees, not just shareholders. If they're truly serious, they should reject this plan to turn a quick profit by laying off workers and outsourcing jobs. I stand with .
  • Keep my boa safe, —I need it for !
  • We've made enormous strides toward equality for LGBTQ+ Americans. But that progress is already under attack, and the path to full equality is far from over. I'll fight alongside organizers and movement leaders until every LGBTQ+ person can thrive free from discrimination.
  • The path to LGBTQ+ equality is far from over, but shoulder to shoulder, I’ll fight alongside the leaders and organizers who have been at the helm from the very beginning. Because when we organize together, when we fight together, and when we persist together—we can win.
  • At least 19 trans people have been killed just this year—almost all of whom were Black trans women. I will create a new grant program within the Office of Violence Against Women to channel resources to organizations by and for trans people to end this crisis.
  • The Trump administration has sought to roll back protections for LGBTQ+ people around the world. In my administration, it will end. I'll protect LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and put the full muscle of the State Department behind protecting human rights for LGBTQ+ people globally.
  • As president, I’ll fight to make sure that every LGBTQ+ person can get the equitable, gender-affirming health care they need. That means . And I’ll immediately work to repeal the Trump administration's efforts to permit discrimination in health care.
  • The criminal justice system should work to ensure safety for all. My plan to reform our criminal justice system recognizes that LGBTQ+ individuals—particularly LGBTQ+ people of color—face unique risks and are disproportionately harmed, and takes steps to reform the status quo.
  • I’ll also push for landmark new anti-discrimination legislation to protect workers from harassment. And I am open to decriminalizing sex work. Sex workers, like all workers, deserve autonomy and are particularly vulnerable to physical and financial abuse.
  • Returning power to working people will be the overarching goal of my presidency, and I’ll fight to make sure that LGBTQ+ people have an equal share of an economy that works for everyone. I'll take executive action to fight workplace discrimination.
  • Like all people, LGBTQ+ Americans deserve safe, affordable housing. I'll increase the supply of affordable housing and strengthen protections against discrimination. And, as president, I'll develop a comprehensive LGBTQ+ youth homelessness prevention program.
  • LGBTQ+ youth are more likely to experience a mental health problem and attempt suicide. That’s why I’ll fight to ensure that LGBTQ+ youth and families are supported and protected so they can thrive. They must be treated with dignity, fairness, and love.
  • First, I will fight to pass the Equality Act to explicitly ban anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination. But we can’t wait on Congress. In my first 100 days as president, I’ll use every legal tool we have to make sure that LGBTQ+ people can live free from discrimination.
  • The problems we face are deeply rooted and systemic, so this plan tackles many different areas. From health care to affordable housing, criminal justice reform, and empowering LGBTQ+ workers, I’ll fight to ensure that every LGBTQ+ person has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Shutting off power will be enormously costly to local economies and dangerous for vulnerable populations. This is not a solution to the climate crisis. We need a 100% clean and distributed energy system to build strong, climate-resilient communities.
