Protesters/artists at Tahrir Square commemorate their friend Safa'a al Saray who was killed exactly 40 days ago while protesting by drawing a line art portrait of him seen vertically. Safaa's has become a symbol of the protests and those fallen. #Iraq
I should add at this point it's not really necessary Sistani confirms anything. Everything is pretty clear.

Video going viral on Instagram of women in a car shouting at a checkpoint in Baghdad :"why are you standing? Go protect our sons! Militias are slaughtering them in Tahrir Square!". The officer runs to the car as demands she stops recording.
Sistani's major problem has always his pragmatic approach and inability to name and shame. His speech could be interpreted in any way a listener desires.
4- The events tonight stand out as the armed groups entered Tahrir Square freely without any security checkpoint stopping them. No official security force attempted to protect the protesters. Absolute silence from the government.
3- This is what happened. Reports vary but the estimated number of killed protesters tonight is between 15-40. Hundreds were injured. Still waiting to hear from a contact in the front lines.
2- After an hour of pleas and calls for help, hundreds from Thawra City came to join them including members of Muqtada al Sadr's Saraya al Salam.
1- Evident from all the footage and testimonies we've heard so far: Tahrir Square protestors were left to defend themselves with basically rocks against armed militias targeting them directly. No security force, no army, no police came to protect them

Zaid, on the right, was kidnapped last night because he used his camera to document the horrible acts of the government against the protesters.
Shohani, on the left, was badly wounded by a bullet in the head tonight near Sinak Bridge.
Is this ever going to stop?
