After an in-depth interview, @Fempersint & @jennyronngren are remarkably quick to accuse me of “false statements” & lack of objectivity/neutrality, but base themselves on unsubstantiated claims by partisan sources & conveniently ignore uncomfortable facts supporting my findings.
Two articles from the WSWS today on the UC grad student wildcat strike, which points the way forward for workers internationally: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/03/07/pers-m07.html … https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2020/03/07/ucsc-m07.html … #cola4all @payusmoreucsc @payusmoreucb @ColaUcsd @ucsb4cola
For 2 months, while @realDonaldTrump was doing absolutely zero to prepare for the spreading #coronavirus, the @WhiteHouse was working overtime to ramp up a system of collecting DNA samples from immigrants in US custody.
Also, the fact that Bloomberg spent a half billion to buy the election and didn't get a single delegate before dropping out, while the Russians allegedly spent $100,000 on FB ads exposes the absurdity of the whole CIA operation over Russian "meddling."
The focus of the new Russia meddling myth on supporters of Sanders exposes what this was all about from the beginning: the criminalization of domestic opposition. Which is what the WSWS said from the start.
"What else would defenders of the UAW like as proof that it is not a workers’ organization? An organization that steals dues money while enforcing the dictates of the company is a scab organization, not a workers’ organization."
In speaking to UC grad students this week, I found that many did not know that the UAW, which "organizes" them, is headed by individuals charged and/or convicted of stealing dues and taking bribes. #ucustrikes
San Ysidro, California high school students walk out to oppose attacks on public education
NYT event on #1619project is doubling down on the claim that the American Revolution was to defend slavery, citing the Dumore Proclamation. Read the WSWS reply to the NYT, which deals at length with Dumore Proclamation:
The UAW president was just charged with embezzling $1 million, and a number of deputies are already in jail, this is not an organization which students should trust:
Silverstein & NHJ opening event at @NYT, NHJ stating that they invited "five way more eminent historians" to speak on slavery &American revolution after criticism of the #1619project. Why are those who criticized the project not invited/why is Tom Mackaman not allowed to speak?
The students of San Ysidro high school are protesting budget cuts that putting unnecessary strain on an already overworked faculty and diminishing the quality of their education.
I stand with these students.
A photo of the walkout of students at San Ysidro High this morning to protest cuts. Video interviews and more coverage to come.
Share widely: @kawulf denies request by historian Tom Mackaman to briefly address @nytimes-sponsored #1619project event tonight. Event blurb says it includes "historians with a range of views." But it was Mackaman and @WSWS_Updates who first challenged the project! @agordonreed.
This week @jkishore and I met with students throughout CA. At UCB, UCSC, UCLA, UCSD and with Sweetwater K-12 students. @payusmoreucsc @sydrounited You must unite!! SEP campaign has been fighting to unite your struggles! You are in a political fight!! The @SEP_US Supports you!
The budget deficit of Sweetwater is 1/100th of what is spent on the US military *every day.* No money for public education?
The amount spent by Trump on the border wall is 300 times the budget deficit of Sweetwater schools, $30 million. #socialism2020
@sydrounited take a look at our election site, socialism@2020.org. We'd like to talk to you about your fight today.
We're at San Ysidro High where students will be walking out today to oppose layoffs and cuts. The Socialist Equality Party supports this struggle and calls for a united movement of the entire working class to secure the right to public education! @sydrounited
