Reporting live from Milwaukee, WIsconsin, journalist Malaika Jabali (https://twitter.com/MalaikaJabali) argues that the election being as close as it was (or has been so far) is a rejection of Joe Biden's centrist arguments and that it *should* be an embarrassment for Third Way Democrats. She also observes "you have a bunch of working class Black organizers working their butts off just to be told by Biden, 'I'm sorry, I might veto Medicare For All even though this is a state where Black people are dying from COVID at 8-10 times the rate of white people, which is the worst disparity in the United States'."
Malaika Jabali is a writer, filmmaker, attorney, activist and columnist at The Guardian. She's the director "Left Out" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubd2c... ) a documentary in which she travels around Milwaukee to ask Black residents--who are facing one of the worst economic crises in America's history-- if they think policies like Medicare for All or free college tuition are "too far left." She didn't have much luck. The film was based on her groundbreaking article "The Color of Economic Anxiety" (https://www.currentaffairs.org/2018/1...), which was published by Current Affairs.
