John Ratcliffe says law enforcement knows the laptop that surfaced in the news in October last year belongs to Hunter Biden – and he questions whether President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice will “exercise prosecutorial discretion” against his son. “The intelligence community knew this was not Russian disinformation and law enforcement knew that it was Hunter Biden’s laptop,” the former director of national intelligence said in a Fox News interview. “There was an FBI investigation ongoing at the time before the election. “Now the question is will Joe Biden’s Department of Justice exercise prosecutorial discretion against Joe Biden’s son. “I don’t know the answer to that, I know what the answer should be.” Mr Ratcliffe’s remarks came after Hunter said in a CBS interview he was “certain” he would be cleared by the Justice Department. “I am absolutely certain, 100 per cent certain, that at the end of the investigation that I will be cleared of any wrongdoing,” Hunter said.
