While we are increasingly demanding equal rights and remuneration at work, there is another gap that must be bridged. Women continue to be pushed into the double burden when the men are largely in charge of all the money matters. Women have historically been left out of financial decision making and there are several factors like sexism, digital divide and lack of education at play. At times of financial insecurity, like the COVID-19 pandemic, women are one of the worst hit sections in society. Financial independence is a huge part of the struggle for equality. The more aware gender minorities become, the easier it will be to mitigate the larger things.
