At every factory and workplace my campaign goes to, we’re finding enormous anger among rank-and-file workers over the miserable conditions the UAW bureaucracy oversees. Workers are indignant over the wage and benefit tier system, over being kept as “temporary” workers for years on end, and over inequality in their plants and in society more broadly. Workers are saying, “Things have to change.” My program—to build a mass movement of rank-and-file workers to break the dictatorship of the UAW apparatus and place power in the hands of workers—is winning wide and growing support.
