Dear readers,
Our 52nd year of continuous publications is coming to a close in March -- as a tabloid newspaper (1971-1973), a magazine (1974-1975), back to the tabloid newspaper (1976-2010) and finally on to the Internet in April 2011.
How we send out current and historic material, show reviews, interviews, features, photography and news articles has certainly evolved, especially the scope of content we are able to produce for you 17 times per year on the Internet without the previous expense of printing and postage, now by sending it to you electronically.
The change in ownership and plans for the future are still being worked on, including a redesigned Web site, a new shop for some great looking garments, an expansion of the e-mail list and more updates to the graphic appearance of Drum Corps World.
The tentative 2024 DCI tour schedule has been released with dates and locations, and expanded to include DCA shows that are now part of DCI’s All-age division. Nearly 80 new and previous sites are part of the line-up, with participating corps at each event to be confirmed later in the spring.
This advance information will hopefully allow you to make plans for your summer of drum corps, in person or through FloMarching. Five and a half months and we’ll be back into the competition season, ready to applaud the achievements and talent of DCI World, Open and All-age corps!
For current junior corps members, parents, alumni and fans, August 10 will be a unique opportunity to see the “other” side of the activity, all-age, that many -- or most -- have never experienced before.
