Record Store Day: THE TURKEY'S A MEMORY BUT WE'RE STILL THANKFUL

You thought we were only going to talk about Black Friday today didn't you?

We do hope you're planning to support indie record stores today, and through the holiday season, because as we've said before, record stores sell nothing but great gifts. And your support of them throughout this wacky year is a gift in its own right.
It's something we're pretty thankful for.

Speaking of thankful, we're also very appreciative of the fact that we have some updates on stories we've shared with you this year.
In July, we told you about how Jesse and Michael (above) from The Groove in Nashville, didn't go to work at the store one day--they checked into a hospital instead. Jesse needed a kidney and Michael, a match (!), gave him one. We're happy to report that both are healed, with gnarly scars and a beautiful story of generosity, and Jesse has a "thumbs up so far" report from his doctor. 👍
As if a pandemic wasn't bad enough, in September, the town of Talent, Oregon found themselves in the path of the Almeda Fire, and it pretty much wiped it out, including Biscuits & Vinyl, a store with a tiny staff, but making a big impact on the town nonetheless. (That's half the staff right there -- Biscuits.)
When we talked with Matthew (the other half) we were struck by his focus on getting his TOWN back on its feet, not his store. (You can hear him talk about it on an episode of the Record Store Day podcast). That sentiment came back at him because the town really wanted to make sure they got their record store back. We're happy to report that they're on their way.
