The charge, failure to cease swinging an ass in a non-permited Boogie-down. Yes, that apparently is a felony as evidenced by the police's use of force to stop the display of gyrations and arm thrustings.
Iraq War veteran Adam Kokesh was grabbed around his waist by a police officer, lifted into the air and hurled down against the marble floor. And then the long arm of the law thought it was appropriate to put Adam in a choke hold.
Excessive use of force and the videos online of what took place should have immediately launched an internal investigation within the police department because their actions were outrageous.
After the police brutality took place, a very nervous group of police officers began closing down the Memorial. Were they unable to stop the 'felony dancing,' they should have ignored it (it harmed no one) or shut down the Memorial. Instead they elected to, with the whole world watching, give every police officer across the United States a bad name. The participants don't just owe Adam Kokesh, Medea Benjmain and the others an apology, they owe their peers an apology because their actions were unprofessional and fed into every negative stereotype of the police that some people have.
It was an ugly day for the Constitution, it was an ugly day for America. The police department should have immediately issued an apology.
As the video notes, there will be a Dance Party at the Jefferson Memorial this Saturday at noon. More information can be found at RT's Adam vs. the Man. Especially refer to yesterday's broadcast. In addition to Adam's program, you can also find out information at this Facebook page on the event and on solidarity events taking place around the world. If you are planning to participate in the DC Dance Party, there's also a Friday event you can attend (you don't have to attend it to take part in Saturday's Dance Party), Adam noted on yesterday's broadcast, "We just decided that Friday night, at 8:00 pm, for those of you in DC or who are coming to DC for this event, we are going to be meeting for a pre-party at 8:00 pm at Dupont Circle and it will be a chance for you to meet, maybe some fellow dancers, hang out, get to know them, in a slightly more relaxed environment than what we might see at the Jefferson Memorial on Saturday."
It's over, I'm done writing songs about love
There's a war going on
So I'm holding my gun with a strap and a glove
And I'm writing a song about war
And it goes
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Na na na na na na na
I hate the war
Oh oh oh oh
