War Resisters: Our Real American Patriots
By Mike Palecek
Americans grow up thinking We Are Number One!
And we are.
The United States is the most dangerous country on the planet.
We Americans grow up thinking we are exceptional and that whatever our country does it must do from the goodness of its heart.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
We believe that because we are neck-deep in propaganda and going under, drowning in a whirlpool of falsehoods. At least the citizens of the former Soviet Union knew that they were being lied to. We choose not to.
America is a conquering syndicate, concerned only with wealth, maintenance of that wealth, and increasing that wealth. Our armies and secret organizations, politicians and police, the arms of that octopus.
There are some few Americans who are not fooled, who see through the lies, who resist.
Dr. James Fetzer and Dr. Kevin Barrett are two.
They are the focus of a new book by CWG Press, "The Dynamic Duo: White Rose Blooms in Wisconsin, Kevin Barrett, Jim Fetzer & The American Resistance."
Fetzer and Barrett, career academicians and longtime radio-show personalities, in the past hosted a radio show called "The Dynamic Duo."
I am one of those many who have lived with the Kennedy assassination for most of our lives. We have seen America go from promise to perfidy, have seen fools and liars elected over and over again, seen wars for no reason, over and over again.
That is why I wanted to write about Jim Fetzer and Kevin Barrett. They are on the other side of all that.
Have Fetzer & Barrett on The Nightly News for one month and the world changes. It just would, no doubt. Ideas and knowledge turn the world.
Understanding what has really happened, what is happening, would be the greatest revolution of all time.
That is why "they" fight against it with every ounce of energy they have. Because there is almost a complete blackout of any truthful, honest journalism in America today, the American public remains almost totally oblivious to that.
I saw a connection between what Jim and Kevin do, by words, by speaking, by writing — to the White Rose resistance to Hitler's Germany.
It's the same thing.
The White Rose fought Hitler's abject evil by writing and getting the word out.
Barrett and Fetzer also do that. Toss up their notes and letters into the tornado of American fat and stupidity, hoping someone, somewhere will understand.
It all began that day, 22 November 1963, at 12:30 PM in Dallas when President John F. Kennedy was shot dead. Fetzer and Barrett know the truth about that day and they are trying to tell us.
If we knew — if we cared enough to know — the truth about that day, the fat and the stupid would begin to melt away, like tangerine Jello in the Dallas sun.
From that day we got Oklahoma City, we got 9/11 and Afghanistan and Iraq.
From that day we get this day, today — our world, our lives — whatever is yet to come in Syria, Iran, perhaps even WWIII.
We can choose to watch it unfold on TV, or we can do something about it.
For years and years, Fetzer and Barrett have done everything they can.
This new book is a biography of Jim Fetzer and Kevin Barrett. But it is also a call to resistance: to stop the wars, end the empire, help the poor.
It tells the truth about 9/11, Sandy Hook, the Boston bombings — false-flag attacks designed to soften the resistance to American dominance at home and abroad.
It shows the way to understanding the world in which we live today — and points the way for a stronger and more democratic and just society.
Fetzer and Barrett — The Dynamic Duo — the face, the heart, the soul of the American Resistance to war, oppression, secrecy.
They are the real hope of America for real change.
They are the face of Jefferson, Paine, Franklin.
They look at our nation and speak truth. That's why this book is must reading as well as a call to activism.
