With all the killing going on in Iraq, apparently it's forever shoot-first-ask-questions-later. And no one wants to take the trouble to address the real isssues, they just want to hit and kill, hit and kill over and over again.
Which is why the usual suspects are returning to the scene of the crime -- the US, most likely the UK, a desperate to be included Australia, Germany, Denmark . . . along with new figureheads like the Pope.
Holy water cannot help you now
Thousand armies couldn't keep me out
I don't want your money
I don't want your crown
See I've come to burn your kingdom down
Holy water cannot help you now
See I've come to burn your kingdom down
And no rivers and no lakes can put the fire out
I'm gonna raise the stakes, I'm gonna smoke you out
-- "Seven Devils," written by Florence Welch and Paul Epworth first appears on Florence and the Machines' Ceremonials
The damage more war will do to and on Iraq?
No one wants to talk about that.
The supreme idiocy of Barack's 'mission'?
No one wants to question it.
A few -- Robin Wright, for example -- are calling for the 'mission' to be defined.
That's about the most we can expect apparently.
The peace movement is leaderless as various 'leaders' rush from one issue and 'issue' to another.
There is no consistent call for the White House to immediately cease and desist.
There is propaganda and manipulation (as Mike notes).
