This is the liberation the US government brought to Iraq.
Congratulations!!!!!
In the past 24hrs, the government of Iraq ordered an Internet blackout in most of country in response to multi-day protests against government corruption. #IraqProtests #KeepItOn https://map.internetintel.oracle.com/?root=national&country=IQ …
Can Senator Macho Duckworth tell us again about how she 'liberated' Iraq?
Can she faux humble-brag about herself again while forgetting that she's not the star of Iraq, the Iraqi people are?
- Meanwhile, in other news: there's epic unrest raging in southern Iraq. There aren't enough jobs, electricity or water & it's HOT. The internet is still down, the protests continue. People are dying. With @Mustafa_salimb
Hayder al-Abadi. No one's ever gotten as easy press as Hayder.
It was mere months ago that TIME magazine ran a long story praising him. (A story he then lied about on his Twitter feed claiming the article named him "man of the year.")
Hayder accomplished nothing in four years as prime minister.
Yes, that's why he got so few votes in the May 12th election.
But why did the western press work so hard to pump up his image. They weren't journalists. They were press agents for Hayder.
They lied, they praised him when he'd done nothing. THE INDEPENDENT alone, how many articles did that rag file about how wonderful Hayder was in the last 12 months. (And, no, I'm not just referring to Patrick Cockburn. Others 'reported' on Hayder for that rag.)
Footage circulating on social media allegedly shows Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi escaping from protestors in Basra as demonstrations enter the seventh consecutive day. #IraqiProtests #Iraq
The first time Hayder faces criticism -- this round of protests started slowly -- he reacts by unleashing the military on the Iraqi people. This is the real Hayder, this is the one that we've wanred about. This is the one that corporate media has lied about repeatedly.
