  • Trump promised to protect American jobs. He lied, and workers across Green Bay and the Fox Valley have lost their jobs. When we are in the White House, we will end the corporate greed behind the Shopko closures, Kimberly-Clark layoffs and Foxconn scam.
  • South Carolina has a higher incarceration rate than any country on Earth. African Americans are 27% of the state population but 60% of the prison population. Our racist criminal justice system disenfranchises millions. This is quite simply voter suppression.
  • Young people are the most progressive generation in history. If young people voted at the same percentage as older people, they could transform this country.
  • The United States, under a Sanders presidency, will lead the world in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels, create millions of jobs, and create a less polluting society. That is something in which we have no choice.
  • At the end of the day it's unacceptable for corporations like Amazon and GM, and billionaires like the Koch brothers, to get huge tax breaks. We need a fair, progressive tax system to help raise the revenue we need for policies that will help working families.
  • Wall Street was bailed out by Congress to the tune of at least $1 trillion. Don’t tell me we don't have enough money in this country to substantially reduce student debt.
  • What democratic socialism means is that in a civilized society, health care is a human right. That every young person in this country—regardless of income—has the right to get an education. It means government serves all people, not just wealthy campaign donors.
  • Republican governors all over this country are doing everything they can to make it harder for people of color, young people, and poor people to vote. I will do everything I can to resist that.
  • We need a new trade policy that creates decent-paying jobs in America and ends the global race to the bottom. Corporate America cannot continue to throw American workers out on the street while they outsource our jobs and enjoy record-breaking profits.
  • The function of our current health care system is not to provide quality care for all in a cost-effective way. The function of our current system is to make billions of dollars for the health insurance companies and the drug companies.
