Last week we told you how Sean Hannity was attacking us. Now we’re being attacked by the FCC commissioners themselves for trying to protect the public from being fed lies and misinformation about the coronavirus. Donate to help us fight back. FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr went on a conservative radio show this week and lied about our petition to the FCC, which called on the agency to issue guidance to broadcasters about the dangerous spread of false COVID-19 information on the public airwaves. Meanwhile, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai bashed Free Press and our petition in response to members of Congress inquiring about a different issue — the Trump campaign’s threats to take away broadcasters’ licenses for airing ads that criticize the administration’s response to the pandemic. This is all on the heels of the attacks from Hannity and other right-wing media personalities after we first spoke out. Donate to help us continue the fight against deadly coronavirus misinformation. If you can stay home, please do, and stay safe. We need you and are grateful for you every day. We’re no strangers to these kinds of attacks and we aren’t going anywhere. In fact, in the coming weeks we’ll take on the right-wing media and the tech platforms for their failures to stop the spread of lies and racist misinformation about the coronavirus. Jake: Please donate to help us fight for journalism that tells the truth and keeps us safe during the pandemic and beyond. Thanks for everything. Hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
