With only one month until the election, we’re trying to register every voter in America--but even if we succeed, the tragic reality is that too many in this country still can’t vote.
Hip Hop Caucus is fighting to empower voters, especially in the Black and Brown communities which are told too often that their votes don’t matter.. Still, in a country where all too many formerly incarcerated citizens are denied the right to vote, we need your help.
The school-to-prison pipeline is sucking up and spitting out innocent Black citizens- and afterwards, with an added and unnecessary cruelty, stripping them of their right to vote. Please, donate to Hip Hop Caucus and join us in the fight to restore Black citizens with something they should have never been deprived of: their right to vote.
America’s justice system was designed to silence Black voices, but 2020 is the Year of Truth, and frankly we are done with attempts to silence our voices. Felony disenfranchisement laws are one of many tactics used to attack Black people’s political power. Until every American citizen can vote, no American citizen truly enjoys a Democracy. And that’s what has to change.
We can win this fight--but we can’t do it without you.
With the challenges we face as a nation- a pandemic, economic anxiety, the effects of a rapidly warming planet- things are too perilous to allow any party – Republican or Democrat – get in the way of voting. Empowering citizens is NOT a partisan issue. Voting is a fundamental right for our democracy, it is fundamental to our power.
