| Some things run in the family. JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE never missed a chance to meet people and play his music at record stores like Music Millennium, where those two fan interactions above were captured.
He may have learned that from his father, who also makes record store visits a priority. That picture up there is Steve Earle at Twist and Shout, and below it is his new album, in stores today. It's called J.T and it's a fairly remarkable thing: less than a year after Justin Townes' death, STEVE EARLE AND THE DUKES have recorded an album of his songs, and added one Steve wrote shortly after his son died. From his debut in 2007, Justin Townes Earle released an EP and eight full length albums. This collection, a father covering a son, a collaboration of sorts, is in record stores now.
100% of the artist royalties and advances from J.T., including the special limited edition red vinyl version at record stores, go to a trust set up for Steve's granddaughter, Justin Townes' three-year-old daughter. |
