We don't know the actual number but across all genres, we're talking
A LOT OF ALBUMS.
So many that, even in your favorite genres, you might be missing some in your collection, and there are probably some you may not even know about. It's silly to think we all know them all! That's why record stores are so helpful:
they're a place where the collective mind knows a lot about records,
and where you might learn about something essential.
Or pass that knowledge on to someone else.
That's pretty much the purpose behind RSD ESSENTIALS, a series of releases that started last year to highlight catalog albums that record stores (and record store customers) think are ESSENTIAL, or just really cool.
