.@norakatekeefe wears the selfie line . Folks’ faces as they walk away as they quickly scroll through their photo library— to find she had taken several clicks of their interactions w/ @ewarren — is priceless.
"[women & women of color] are locked into lower wages, discriminated against & harassed on the job, and disproportionately work in sectors that are excluded from basic protections. My plan will empower them, help them unionize, and benefit all workers.”
Worker misclassification (looking at you @Uber & others) is denying basic rights to millions of workers. She will push for a law to end worker misclassification at the federal level (Thanks California for leading the fight) AND use every tool to make progress on this herself.
She also wants to stop employers from using traits historically associated with race to discriminate against workers, like hair texture.
Her plan includes a whole aggressive set of measures to combat discrimination. For example, she wants to codify into law protections for LGBTQ+ workers.
Southern segregationists carved out domestic workers and farm workers from basic worker protections (who are mainly women and people of color). @ewarren's plan fixes that historical and current injustice.
Good piece on how Elizabeth Warren's plan to empower workers "exceeds" the New Deal standard.
I judge people by the quality of their hugs. @ewarren gives presidential quality hugs. #Warren2020 . ( by Nancee Lewis)
